- Will it hurt?
- No, though sometimes the reflex points that are massaged may be a little uncomfortable. Most people find it very interesting that so much can be told about the body through testing your muscles.
- Do I need to get undressed?
No, Kinesiology is done fully clothed. You lie on a massage table and the only thing you remove is your shoes.
- How many appointments will I need?
- We are the sum total of all our experiences. If you have been under stress for a long time then it is understandable that one session isn’t going to give you the best chance of recovery.Still, we have to start somewhere and usually it is expected that a client will need between 3-6 sessions, spread over several weeks/months to see significant improvement.
- Do I have to have strong muscles?
Kinesiology is not a competition of strength, so you do not have to be fit or strong for this. It works with the kinetic energy of the muscles and so only a very light pressure is needed for the assessment.
- Can kinesiology test for food sensitivities?
Yes! Systematic Kinesiology, as the name implies, works in a systematic manner in finding out what it is that is causing ill health or disease in the client. Food testing is a very helpful way of finding out if there is anything that can improve your health by means of elimination or reduction. As it is known: "One man's meat is another man's poison". Many people are also relieved to find out that certain foods are not affecting them negatively.
- Does kinesiology work on children and babies?
Yes! When working with children, infants and fragile people the muscle testing works through a surrogate, a person able to perform the muscle tests. It is very helpful in establishing what foods your child can or cannot handle and also in getting answers to what might be going on with the system in people unable to otherwise communicate verbally.
- Can it help with IBS and bloated stomach?
Yes! Through finding out the root cause of your problem, rather than just treating the symptoms, kinesiology has helped many people get their gut back in order and also increased their understanding of what the problem was in the first place. In this way, you as a client will be empowered in knowing what you can do for your optimum health.
- Can you cure serious diseases like cancer with kinesiology?
SK is a preventative therapy and as such, should be used in a preventative manner. People suffering from serious disease like cancer can still benefit profoundly from kinesiology treatments as it takes a whole person approach, nurturing all aspects of both the body and the mind.
